Race Details

High School Races


Elite & Select Divisions:
Participation will be limited to 25 teams per gender. Teams will be placed into this division by the FSU XC Invite High School Committee. Each team will be allowed to race 10 athletes only.


Varsity A & Varsity B Divisions: Participation will be limited to 30 teams per gender. Teams will be placed into these divisions by the FSU XC Invite High School Committee. Each team will be allowed to race 10 athletes only. All athletes outside their top 10 must compete in the Junior Varsity Division.


Junior Varsity Division: Based off entries from last year, there will be only 1 junior varsity race. Each team will be allowed to race 10 athletes only. Please email Chris Sumner at LFCSum- [email protected] with your Junior Varsity plans.


Individuals: Individuals who are traveling without a team must represent their high school. No “unattached” high school runners will be allowed to race. Individual athletes can be accept- ed, with coaches blessing, to run in a race apart from their team. Strict qualification standards of sub 16:00/19:00 for Elite and sub 17:00/20:00 for Invite.


** Division assignments will be posted by 12 Noon on Monday October 6th on our cross country website at www.seminoles.com


University/College/Open Races:

There will be one section of each race, with no entry limitations. Schools may race as
many athletes as they want. The meet will be scored separately for University (Division I) and College (all other divisions). Open/Unattached competitors are allowed to race but need to
register by email to Patrick Murray at [email protected] by Monday October 6th. No race day entries will be accepted.

Registration closes Sunday, September 28th


Payment must be received by September 22nd for teams wishing to participate in either the Elite or Invite divisions.

 

Bibs will be assigned for all athletes on a team. Coaches will NOT have to designate which athletes are varsity or JV.


NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES


Assignments for the high school races will be posted on www.seminoles.com cross country page by 12 Noon, Monday, October 6th, 2014


High Schools:


Entry Fees

The entry fee for high school teams will be $75 per varsity team per gender. Individuals are $20.

University/College/Open:

The entry fee for college teams will be $150 per varsity team per gender and $20 per open/unattached competitor.
Entry fees due no later than September 28th. Please make checks payable to the
Florida State University Track & Field Officials Association.

Checks made out to Florida State will NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Bib Timing Procedure
Timing services will be provided by Half-MileTiming, with each Bib Number containing a timing

chip. Each school will receive 20 Bib Numbers per team, per gender. Schools do not have to declare varsity or JV. Simply make sure that all runners are wearing their specific assigned Bib Number.

Awards

High School Divisions:
Elite Race:
Trophies for team champions and runner-ups. Plaques for the top 10 finishers and the winning team’s head coach. T-Shirts for the top 20 finishers.
All other HS Varsity Races: Trophies for team champions. T-Shirts for the top 10 finishers. Fastest by Class: Awards will be presented to the fastest Fr./Soph/Jr./Sr. – boys and girls - over- all (entries in all race divisions are eligible)


University/College Divisions:


Trophies for team champions among both Division I and College teams. T-Shirts for the top 20 finishers.


Packet Pick Up and Course Inspection


Teams can pick up packets at the course from 2:00pm to 6:00pm on Friday afternoon, and on Saturday morning. Course maps will be available at these times. Maps are also available on the cross country page at www.seminoles.com.

The course will be available for teams to preview on Thursday evening from 3:00pm to 7:00pm and on Friday from 2:00pm to 6:00pm.

The course will be closed for warm-ups shortly before the start of the Friday evening races, and during active racing on Saturday morning. There will be no warming up on the course during competitions.

From Points West:


- Take Interstate 10 to Exit 203.
- Take exit 203 for FL-61 toward US-319/Thomasville/Tallahassee
- Merge onto Raymond Diehl Rd. (Straight Ahead)
- Turn right at Capital Circle NE.
- Follow Capital Circle until you reach Apalachee Parkway. (about 5.4 miles)
- Turn left at Apalachee Pkwy/FL-20/US-27.
- The course is located
five miles east on Apalachee Parkway on the left side of the road behind a series of football fields and will be signposted.

From Points East:


- Take the US – 19/ FL-GA Parkway. (Exit 225 of I-10)
- Turn LEFT onto US-19 South (FL-GA PKWY)
- Go 5 miles to US-27 N
- Turn Right onto US-27 N and drive 14.5 miles towards Tallahassee - Arrive at 7550 Apalachee Pky, Tallahassee, FL 32311-3448
